Integrated design approach transforms stark spaces.
The $30 million refurbishment of Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley train station has set a new benchmark for transport design in Queensland.
This approach for ‘concept’ stations express the character of the local area through clever use of graphics and imagery.
Photographic ‘glimpses’ of the Valley, ‘soundwave’ graphics to walls and projection art were designed in association with Urban Art Projects to showcase the reputation of the Valley as the music and entertainment hub of Queensland.
The project was awarded an international 2009 SEGD (Society of Environmental Graphic Design) Merit Award, and a DIA/QDOS 2009 Silver Award.
